In 1966 he earned the position of Deputy Assessor in Charleston County and in 1976 began as the Assessor for Anderson County and later Greenville County. Heyward retired in 1986 as Greenville County Tax Assessor.

Roland Peter Musselman III, 48, of Annapolis died of a stroke Jan. 16 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Musselman was born Aug. 27, 1959, in Maryland to the late Theresa and Roland Peter Musselman II, and earned an agricultural degree from Berry College in Rome, Ga.
He was the owner of Musselman's Body Shop in Glen Burnie.
He enjoyed automobiles, boating, Lionel trains, memorabilia, and spending time with his family and friends.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie-Anne Musselman; and one brother, Ronald Musselman.
Survivors include his fiancee, Kim Wallace-Torres of Annapolis; two daughters, Stacy Musselman of Annapolis and Janis Musselman of Germantown; and one sister, Rita Eastman of Peoria, Ariz.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 Second Ave. S.W. in Glen Burnie.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.

Obituary: On January 16, 2008, Roland P. Musselman, III of Annapolis. Devoted father of, Janis and Stacy Musselman. Loving Fiance' of Kim Wallace-Torres. Fond brother of Rita Eastman. He was preceded in death by his parents Roland P. Musselman, II and Theresa Musselman, one brother, Ronald Musselman; and his daughter, Julie Anne Musselman. Roland earned a four year degree in Chemistry from Berry College. He was the owner of Musselman's Body Shop in Glen Burnie Maryland. He enjoyed many hobbies including automobiles, boating, Lionel trains and memorabilia. However most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Roland leaves many friends and family he will be missed ememslely (sic).
