He was active in King Philip’s War and for his service his heirs received a grant of land in Narragansett Township 7 at what is now Gorham, ME. In 1685 he was chosen to command the third Plymouth Colony Regiment composed of companies from Barnstable, Sandwich, Yarmouth and Eastham.69253
