He was inducted at Camp Meade, MD in Oct 1917 and assigned to 316 Infantry, Company L. He mustered out 6 Nov 1919 at Camp Dix, NJ as a 1st Class Private from Base Hospital 33, West Branch. He served overseas in France. Sailed from the U.S. on 26 Oct 1918 and returned to the U.S. on 3 Nov 1919.
