Sir John de Hyde, Ktd bef 1348, Lord of Norbury, Haighton, and half Hyde beef 1342, served in the French Wars under the Black Prince 1357, sold his interest in the manors and lands of Shallcrosse, Fermelegh, Godlegh, Nenton, Haeigham and Heaton, living 1365. By his second wife, Alice (living 1365), he had a son Thomas, of Warford, who Marr: Mary d/o William de Tabbelegh, Lord of Nether Knutsford, and d: 1398. His first wife is variously described as Margery d/o Thomas de Davenport of Wheltrough and as Margaret d/o Sir John de Davenport. By one of these ladies he had six sons, of whom the third but eldest surviving,
