Residence: The Western Palatinate - Eighteenth Century Emigrants pg 320. ZMP: Lichtenberg, 1738: The Widow of Matheiss of Grunbach moves to America. Ship Davy, 1738; S-H, 1:233,235, 236; Maria Margretha & possibly some of her sons & daus may also been (sic) on this ship. The newspaper PA Gazette, dated 26 Oct 1738, says that 160 of the passengers died on the voyage.33300
7John Nickel Theiss Notes:The Lichtenberg Manumissions indicated that the widow of Matthias Theiss of Grunbach left for Carolina in 1738, so she, as well as some of the younger children, may have been on this ship with her son Nickel & dau Elizabeth. No recd of her has been found in America. 33300
