Vol 10 Pg 8648217 “The Ancestry of John Whitney” by Henry Melville, DeVinne Press, New York, 1896: does not identify the (Sir Robert Whitney’s) son Thomas (Whitney) as being of Westminster. … In view of the well-known defects often occurring in these Harlan copies of Visitation pedigrees, and the absence of identification of this Robert’s son Thomas with our Thomas of Westminster, this generation must be viewed as a very weak link in the chain of descent.
