9 Sir William Stanley was Lord of Stoourton in Wirrall, Cheshire & Stanlegh in Staffordshire. He was knighted abt 1352. Probably built Storeton Hall in 1360. Wirrall was disafforested in 1376.  He was aged 50 or more when he gave evidence in the Scrope-Grosvenor trial in Chester on September 3, 1386.54072
