Item I devise & bequeath unto wife Mapa and to Mary Martha Piles and to Francis Benton Piles and to Oceola Piles this place where I live and all the balance of the land adjoining it….
Item I devise and bequeath unto my son William a lot of 63 acres in which he now lives, purchased of John Thomas Naylor and another part beginning at his gate standing at the corner of your fence running in a straight line to the road running to Alfred Biggs and following the road down to the of (sic) my fine to Pumphreys place.
Item I devise and bequeath unto Charlotte Mchlain Allen, 60 acres of land that I have given her to her and her heirs forever and likewise 10 acres of the cedar and pine adjoining Sarah Allens
Item I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Eliza Elizabeth Lanham a piece of land containing 64 acres that I laid off to her and to her heirs forever
Item I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Martha Piles that place where D. Thomas Horton lived and all the land belonging to me adjoining to No. of that side of the main road
Item I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Ann Allen the balance of the 50 acres bought of John S. Naylor after John V. Piles’s 11 acres is taken out which is bounded around and 11 acres which I bought of John S. Naylor since & which she had in possession at this time and likewise 10 acres of the 32 acres in the other side of the main road purchased of John S. Naylor to be given to said Sarah Ann Allen
Item I give and bequeath unto my son John V. Piles that lot of ground which I sold him and the 10 acres adjoining it in the other side of the main road
Item to Lucy Jones Wilkerson and Mary Emily Kilpatrick my daughters, I have given $200 each and in addition to which I leave $50 each
Item I devise and bequeath unto my son Francis Benton Piles the balance (Coats?) land lying below my daughter Mchlan’s and Eliza’s land
Item to my granddaughter Leonorah Piles $120 in undivided notes
Item and I further devise and bequeath unto my wife Mapa, William V. Piles and to Thomas E. Piles all notes of every description and open accounts which I have in possession

Item I devise and bequeath unto my wife Mapa and to Mary Martha Piles and to Francis Benton Piles and to Oceola Piles this place where I live and all the balance of the land adjoining it. I convey it to them in this way during there lives and at my wife’s Mapa’s death for said land to belong to Francis Benton Piles and Oceola Piles and all my household and kitchen furniture to belong to my wife during her lifetime and all stock of every description and farming utensils. This devise I again make for fear my will should not be correctly executed and that my wife shall not be prohibited from selling any thing from the place to pay expenses.

Prince George’s County 16 Aug 1850: Then came Alexander H. Tolson, Alfred E. Biggs & Dennis Sweeney the then subscribing witnesses to this will and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they did see William H. Piles the testator herein named sign and seal this will and heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will & testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of there apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they respectively subscribed their names to this will in the presence of the testator at his request and in the presence of each other as sworn before: James Harper, Reg of Wills for PG Cty
