Pg 32 John Slaven S 6110 enlisted late 1776 in Augusta County, VA, served as a private in Capt Michael Bowyer’s company, Col James Wood’s VA regiment, was in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown, also in several skirmishes and was discharged in Oct 1778.
Allowed pension on his application executed 23 Aug 1819, at which time he resided in Randolph Co VA. In 1820, he resided in Pendleton Co VA.
4 Aug 1832 John Slaven made another application for pension under the Act of 7 Jun 1832; at that time he was a resident of Pocahontas Co VA (his previous place of residence, but that part of Pendleton Co had been incorporated in Pocahontas County). His claim was allowed.
No reference was made to wife or children of John Slaven.
