3000Pg 4 Wm W. Stevens, 63 yrs last Oct, resident of Bedford Co VA appeared in Bedford County VA Court, made oath that Isaac Wade married his mother, whose maiden name was Gibbs on 11 Feb 1779. That he had frequently heard Isaac Wade in his lifetime speak of being at the Capture of Lord Cornwallis - that he Wade said he saw Gen’l Washington; and Lord Cornwallis, meet on the day that Cornwallis made his surrender - which was Oct 1781; that Mrs Polly Wade his present widow had to get help to toddler her son during his absence in service - that Wade and wife lived together as man and wife until his death Aug 1823 - that she has remained the widow of said Wade until the present time, and is the identical person who is claiming a pension as the widow of said Wade. /s/ Wm W. Pg 5 Mrs. Polly Wade aged 78, resident of Bedford Co VA, appeared in Bedford Co VA court 4 MAY 1839 declared to obtain pension benefit as widow of Isaac Wade, dec’d. Isaac Wade was a Regular Soldier in Rev War, enlisted under Capt Geo Lambert of Bedford Co and must have served 3 yrs… he having belonged to the 14th Reg’t VA Continental line, He married deponent (whose maiden name was Polly Gibbs, but was the widow of Thos Stevens at the time she was married to said Isaac Wade) on 11 Feb 1779, oldest child by Wade was b: 18 Jan 1780
