Enlisted and served as private in the VA troops at different times:
From aft Mar 1776, 4 months in Captain Henry Buford’s Company under Col William Christie, engaged against the Cherokee Indians
From 18 Feb 1778 in Captain Jacob Ellis’ and Roberts’ companies, Col William Davies’ VA Regiment, marched to Monmouth where he was sick with the small pox at the time of the battle there, marched afterwards to West Point, went into winter quarters near Bound Brook, NJ and was discharged there 20 Feb 1779
From Feb 1781 aft two months in Capt David Beard’s company, Col Lynch’s regiment, during which he was stationed near Guilford Court House as picket guard during the battle there. He stated that he left the army after said battle to take care of one of his brothers who was wounded there, but he did not state the name of the brother.
No reference was made to wife or children of this soldier
