Military Record: Conferderate Soldier Civil War Greenbank Co., Co. G., 31st Va. Infantry, wounded three times; twice a prisoner of war. Source: pg 388 History of Pocohontas Co., 1900/Price. Frances McBride (7) Gum was injured at Spottsylvania Court House. His second injury was received at Liberty, Bedford Co., when Gen. Hunter was repulsed at Lynchburg, Va. The third time , at Winchester, a minnie ball clipped off his mustache at the battle of Cold Harbor. He was twice a prisoner of war. He was captured at Uriah Hevener's in 1864 and paroled. The second time he was taken to Clarksburg where he suffered many privations.25708
