Pg 319 Claypole Gum became a soldier in the Revolutionary War and lost his life during the war. Claypole Gum, was listed in Capt. Woodson’s Co, 6th VA Regiment. (S: McAllister, Virginians in the Revolution). The 11th Regiment became the 6th Regiment.
25870Pg 352 Jehu Gum is on the payroll of Capt. Benjamin Harrison in 1774, Lord Dunmore’s War, when Jehu had served in the company for 119 days. On the same payroll were his brothers: Abraham, Claypool and Norton.
