Gum, 2nd Co F 25th VA Inf, O.B.A., Jun 11, 1861 at Hevener's Store. Muster roll Sep & Oct 1862, dated Nov 1, 1862, shows him deserted Camp Shenandoah, Apr 19, 1862, a Private. Musket lost. His name is not borne on the subsequent rolls of the Co. from Nov 1862 to Apr 30, 1864, (latest on file) ... This Co. was also known as 1st. Co.D & Capt George M. Kiracofe's Co. (Highland Rangers) 25th VA Inf.
