Pg 59 (Margaret Winans Gum) was blind the last 14 years of her life. Pg 61 She was blind the last 13 (sic) years of her life. She had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Burton in Weston. Perhaps he cut too deeply, anyway she never regained her vision after the surgery. She developed a keen sense of sound and could identify family and friends by their footsteps.
