Pg 40 Line 34, 31. Sir John Harington, Knt, knighted 22 May 1306, first Lord Harington, M.P. 1326-1347. He held the manors of Aldingham, Thurnham and Ulverston in Lancashire, Witherslack and Hutton Roof in Westmoreland, and Austwick and Harington in Cumberland.
25284v1 p106 John, the eldest s/o Robert de Haverington or Harrington & Agnes de Cancefield, attended Edw. I in 1306, in his expedition into Scotland, and was made knight of the bath with Prince Edward, afterwards Edw. II. In 1311 he had summons to appear at Carlisle, and march against the Scots; and in 1340 he had a charter for free warren at Wytherslack in Westmoreland, with license to impark (sic) 600 acres within the precincts of his lordship of Aldingham He was summoned among the barons of the realm from 1325 to 1347, in which year he died.
