Trail, David Sr. (1726-1781) “David Trail, Sr.” took the Oath of Allegiance before the Hon. Gerrard Briscoe on 2 Mar 1778 (Ref: T-3:56, L-1:46). Rendered aid by providing wheat for use of the military in 1780 (Ref: O-314). Lived in Sugar Loaf Hd. (one taxable) in 1777 (Ref: R-31:11). “David Trail Sr., of Frederick County, planter” died testate in Montgomery County (wife named Margaret) in 1781 (Ref: V-136, DAR-I:685).
