25284Pg 104, 24. Edmund Fitz Alan, Earl of Arundel. For a long time Edmund was in opposition to Edward II, and was violent against Piers Gaveston, who had beaten him in a tournament. However, in 1321 he changed sides and was made Chief Justiciar of Wales 1323 (38), and Warden of the Welsh Marches 1325 (40). He was captured by Roger de Mortimer (Mortimer 27), Queen Isabel's paramour, and without trial, beheaded at Hereford 11-17-1326 (41).
