Virginia Immigrants and Adventurers 1607-1635: A Biographical Dictionary, by Martha W. McCartney (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 2007), p. 718. gives a biographical sketch of John Walton, who arrived in 1621 on the Elizabeth, and in the List of Living and Dead of 16 February 1624, was age 28 and living in the household of Alexander Mountney at Elizabeth City, Virginia. The article gives a few other facts about his life and concludes by noting that he made his will on 16 September 1640. Vol 4 Pg 11-12 Pt IV:20185 (Same John Walton?)
Nov 4, 1647 – John Gresham witnessed a power of attorney from Edward Bland, merchant, of VA, to Edward Hudson, planter, authorizing Hudson to sue Walter Dewall and John Wallton/Wathan for taking a boat which belonged to Bland from Bland's landing in VA without his permission. On Nov 26, 1647, Hudson brought suit for the boat on behalf of Bland against John Wallton/Waltham (but not Dewall) in the MD Provincial Court. Gresham is not mentioned further in the case.
