Pg 11 Jane Potter, in her will written in the 9th month (Nov) 1703, and probated 5th month (July) 1704, mentions her friend Frances Gum. “Jane Potter bequeaths to son (name not given) to William Former and Frances Gum, my cozens, which liveth at Duck Creek; to John Davis’s son John; Richard Dobson, Executor. Four versions of her will were found in different sources researched. One states, “my son, Abraham, to have the mill when eighteen”. (55 Turner, Papers in PA State Historical Society (not C.H.B. Turner)). In another, Frances Gum is to care for Abraham Potter until he is of age, and one indicates that Abraham was about 14 years old when his mother died. One version calls Frances, her friend, and bequeaths her, her clothing. (The word friend has been used when uncles, nephews, and other close relatives were meant).14288 Pg 1421240 (Relationship?)
